PPJK License Explained — Why It Matters for Your Indonesia Shipment

What is PPJK?

PPJK stands for Pengusaha Pengurusan Jasa Kepabeanan — literally "Customs Service Management Entrepreneur." A PPJK is a company that is officially licensed by Indonesia's Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) to handle customs clearance on behalf of importers and exporters.

Why Does the License Matter?

In Indonesia, customs declarations (PEB for exports, PIB for imports) must be filed in the official CEISA (Customs Information System) by an entity with valid credentials. Only licensed PPJK companies can legally access CEISA and file declarations.

What Happens Without a Licensed Agent?

If you use an unlicensed customs broker:

  • Your customs declaration may be rejected
  • Your cargo could be held at the bonded warehouse indefinitely
  • You may face penalties for customs violations
  • You have no legal recourse if something goes wrong

How to Verify a PPJK License

You can verify a forwarder's PPJK license by asking for their PPJK registration number from DJBC. Legitimate forwarders will provide this readily. You can also cross-check at the official DJBC portal.

PT Ambara Artha Globaltrans — Licensed PPJK

PT Ambara Artha Globaltrans holds a valid PPJK license issued by DJBC. This means we can legally file all customs declarations on your behalf, ensuring compliance and smooth clearance at CGK, SUB, and DPS airports.

PPJK vs Regular Freight Forwarder

Not all freight forwarders have a PPJK license. Some only do logistics (pickup, transport, storage) and outsource customs work to a third party. A company with both freight forwarding capability AND a PPJK license provides a more seamless, accountable service.
